Privacy Policy

1. The short version
We collect what the app needs to do its job, we store it encrypted, we do not sell it, we do not run ads, and you can delete all of it yourself at any time. Your transition file is yours.
2. What we collect
Your account email and password (passwords are hashed, we never see them). The profile you enter: rank, MOS, component, service dates, projected separation date, family status, and preferences. The content you create: journal entries, milestones, appointments, and the documents you upload to the vault. Support messages you send us. We do not collect your SSN, and you should redact it from anything you upload.
3. How we use it
To run the app: generate your timeline and milestones, compute your estimates, store and return your documents, and answer your support requests. Aggregated, non-identifying usage patterns help us decide what to build next. We do not sell your data, rent it, or share it with advertisers, data brokers, or lead generators. No exceptions.
4. Where it lives
Data is stored with Supabase on infrastructure in the United States. Documents are encrypted at rest. Every database table enforces row level security, which means your rows are readable by your account and no one else's. Transactional email (support replies, account email) is delivered through Resend.
5. AI features and consent
AI features are Pro tier and consent gated. Nothing you upload is sent to an AI model unless you explicitly opt in for that specific document or feature, every time. AI requests route through our own gateway with spending caps; your content is not used to train models.
6. Your documents
Do not upload documents containing classified information (CONFIDENTIAL, SECRET, TOP SECRET, S//NF). Redact your full SSN before uploading any document. DD 214 Day stores documents encrypted at rest, but you remain responsible for the contents you upload.
7. Cookies and tracking
We use the cookies required to keep you signed in. We do not run third-party advertising trackers. If we add product analytics, it will measure feature usage to improve the app, not follow you around the internet, and this policy will be updated first.
8. Deleting your data
Settings has a delete account option that works without emailing anyone. Deletion removes your profile, journal entries, milestones, and vault documents. Backups age out on a rolling basis after deletion.
9. Who we are
DD 214 Day is operated by Teal Apex Group LLC, a veteran-owned company. DD 214 Day is an independent, veteran-owned application. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Army, Department of Defense, or Department of Veterans Affairs.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in any material way, we will note it in the app before the change takes effect. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
